What the enemy stole

As I read through my Bible today, reading in the book of Ezra, it brings us to the time where the some of the people of Judah and Jerusalem come back. Where they find themselves back in their homeland and rebuilding the temple of God. Where they begin their new lives, in a sense, building a foundation based on God.

But what caught my eye, wasn’t only that these peoples have found their way to God once more. Where in the past, they had forsake Him and found them ushered away from their home. Where they saw many things stolen, their lives, their homes, their belongings, and the temple they once revered as sacred, in addition to any sacred items within the temple itself.

It was what God had done for them through Cyrus, king of Persia. Where the items they found stolen were returned. Not only that, but they were also given many more items, like articles of silver and gold, goods and livestock, valuable gifts, and freewill offerings (Ezra 1:5-7).

See, God always intends good for us. He always intends for us to prosper and not to fail. For He sent His only son for that very purpose, to give life and life more abundant. While the enemy (or the devil) always intends evil for us. He comes to destroy and kill whatever he can, he comes after you and your life and all that you have. But what the enemy meant for evil, God will use for good. What the enemy meant to come in and steal, God will return it a hundredfold. What the enemy came to destroy, God will rebuild again and again. For that is God’s nature.

And we see in this scripture, that God will never leave us hungry and starving. He will never leave us poor and needing more. He returned the things for His temple, a temple that was destroyed and raided and gave even more to His people.

Something He will do for you. For what the enemy stole, it will come to you. It will come back and you will receive more. You will not have to worry for tomorrow. For what may or may not be there. God works all things for good and He won’t stop until they are good. As He did with the Isrealites, as He stirred the hearts of man to come and be a blessing to His people…His children. Something we too can experience because whatever the enemy thinks he’s stolen, well it’s not his to keep. It never is and never was to begin with.

It will return. It will return in interest. You will find yourself in a place of success and prosperity soon enough. You will find yourself having it all back and more. For it’s time that it’s taken back and returned to your hands. No longer will you worry. No longer will this thing come and haunt you at night. For God has already given it into your hands, it’s only a matter of time before you see it, before you have it.
